[Commentary] On November 13, the "Hainan Free Trade Port and Southeast Asia Regional Cooperation International Forum" hosted by the Institute of Free Trade Port with Chinese Characteristics, the Institute of East Asia, National University of Singapore, China (Hainan) Reform and Development Institute, and China South China Sea Institute "Held in Haikou.
Experts and scholars from China, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia provided advice and suggestions for international cooperation between Hainan and Southeast Asia.
[Explanation] Hofman, director of the East Asian Institute of the National University of Singapore, said that the construction experience of Singapore's free trade port can be used for reference by Hainan. At the same time, the two sides are complementary in terms of human capital, financial services, and logistics.
Both Hainan and Southeast Asia look forward to exchanges and cooperation in more fields.
[Explanation] Chi Fulin, director of the China (Hainan) Institute of Reform and Development and the Institute of Free Trade Ports with Chinese Characteristics, suggested that Hainan Free Trade Port and countries in the South China Sea can seek cooperation in many areas outside the South China Sea.

We are the South China Sea region, and we have common interests in the South China Sea.
Economic and trade, social, cultural exchanges, and public health demands outside the South China Sea are greater.
So can we find common ground, such as digital economy, cross-border e-commerce, tourism, culture, and employment to find common ground to seek breakthroughs? I think in this respect, the reality and urgency are great.
[Commentary] Cao Yuanzheng, chairman of BOC International Research Co., Ltd., is optimistic about the medical cooperation between Hainan Free Trade Port and Southeast Asia.
At the same time, in terms of international education, Hainan can take advantage of the open policy to increase international cooperation with Southeast Asia.

Hainan Free Trade Port particularly emphasizes the non-replicability and non-promotion of its programs, so it mainly focuses on two points. The first is education, and the second is medical treatment.
This cannot be replicated nationwide.
Then Hainan should give full play to this advantage and step up its use of this advantage to cooperate with the international community and become an education island and a medical island.
[Explanation] Ni Hongri, a researcher at the Development Research Center of the State Council of China, believes that the Hainan Free Trade Port is currently facing opportunities and challenges, and it should seize the opportunity and give full play to its advantages in seeking cooperation with Southeast Asian countries.

In terms of cooperation with Southeast Asia (countries), (Hainan) has natural conditions and many opportunities.
We have to start with some specific projects.
Including research on marine development, as well as research on agricultural science and technology, then use your own strengths to avoid your own shortcomings, and seize the time to quickly rise in this opportunity.
