The star will soon be in a new feature film: a biopic adapted from the autobiography of Silvia Vásquez-Lavado.
The climber is the first Peruvian to climb Mount Everest and the first openly gay woman to take on the Seven Summits Challenge, which involves climbing the highest mountains on each continent.
The film, titled
In The Shadow Of The Mountain
, does not yet have a release date, but is slated for winter 2022.
Of all the fights
Silvia Vásquez-Lavado is not only a mountaineering pioneer, she is also a social activist, who notably created the Courageous Girls association to help victims of abuse and sexual trafficking.
The film, directed by Elgin James, will be produced not only by Selena Gomez but also by Scott Budnick and Donna Gigliotti.
