Most of the contents of the bear stomach that haunt the city are persimmon fruits Ishikawa November 12, 14:36

In October, an expert investigated the contents of the stomach of a bear that appeared in the urban area of Ishikawa Prefecture, and found that most of them were persimmon fruits.

Experts say these nuts are a factor in attracting bears to the city and are calling for the immediate removal of nuts such as garden trees.

In Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, a bear invaded a shopping center near JR Kaga Onsen Station on October 19, and the store was closed.

Professor Toru Oi of Ishikawa Prefectural University, who is studying the ecology of bears, investigated the contents of the stomach of this bear and the bear's stomach exterminated in the city of Hakusan and the manure collected at the site.

As a result, most of the contents of the stomach contained persimmon nuts, and there were other nuts that seemed to be "Matebashii" that can be seen as roadside trees.

Professor Oi says it is evidence that the nuts planted in villages and urban areas have attracted bears strongly.

Professor Oi says, "Ginkgo and castanopsis fruits are also a cause of attracting bears. Bears may appear frequently throughout this month, so I would like you to promptly pick and cut the fruits."
