At home and behind closed doors, Senegal fully intended to continue its flawless performance after its first two victories against Congo (2-0) and Eswatini (4-1).

For that, it was necessary to have Guinea Bissau.

It was not until the end of the first period and a penalty from Sadio Mané after a foul on Ismaïla Sarr to see the Senegalese find the solution when they had largely possession of the ball (44th).

In the second half, Messin Opa Nguette doubled the lead in the 47th minute with Sadio Mané as passer.

Senegal was still scared before opening the scoring with a free kick shot by Mama Baldé and stopped by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

In Thiès, Senegal therefore managed the pass of three.

With 9 points on the clock, Aliou Cissé's men, vice-champions of Africa, now have a foot in the final phase.

Guinea at the top of group A

For its part, Guinea defeated Chad (1-0).

Syli National first missed opportunities including a header from Ousmane Kanté saved on the line.

The locals finally opened the scoring and scored the only goal of the game in the 45th minute thanks to Mady Camara.

Guinea, after three days, now has two wins and a draw.

The Guineans are leading Pool A while Chad has still not scored a point.
