“It's a gesture to show them our gratitude and support.

In response to the intensifying health crisis, the Pays-de-la-Loire regional council has decided to make regional transport free for health professionals (nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, pharmacists, employee of a medico-social structure…).

A measure valid from this Tuesday, and until the end of confinement, on the Aléop network, that is to say TER trains, bus lines and the maritime link to the island of Yeu (Vendée) .

Urban public transport, managed by agglomeration communities, is not included in the decision.

Not for personal journeys

To benefit from the free service, you must make a business trip or a home-work trip.

The presentation of professional proof or the signed certificate from the employer is sufficient in the event of an inspection.

“Our caregivers are facing this second wave with great courage and self-sacrifice,” comments Christelle Morancais, president of the Pays-de-la-Loire region.

Several other French regions have adopted similar measures in recent days.
