Last weekend, it became known that Netflix had suspended production of the second season of The Witcher.

According to Variety, this happened after four members of the film crew were diagnosed with the coronavirus.

The names of the sick were not reported, but it is known that there are no leading actors among them.

In the near future, Netflix plans to check the entire project team for coronavirus.

Production will resume when the company is satisfied that further filming is safe.

The project was already frozen in March, when actor Christopher Hivue (Nivellen) tested positive.

The filmmakers were able to return to work on the series only in mid-August.

The Witcher is a fantasy serial based on a series of novels by the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.

In the series, as in the books, it tells about the adventures of the witcher Geralt, who, for money, rid the world of dangerous monsters.

The main roles in the film are played by Henry Cavill and Freya Allan.

In early November, production of Olivia Wilde's psychological thriller Don't Worry Sweetheart was suspended after a member of the film crew tested positive for coronavirus during routine testing.

Work on the painting is expected to resume in about two weeks.

Also the other day the American TV channel TNT was forced to interrupt the shooting of the fourth season of the series "Claws".

As with the Wild movie, one team member was diagnosed with COVID-19 during a mandatory check-up for all Warner Bros. employees.

A similar incident happened on the set of the sports series Big Shot for the Disney + video service.

At the same time, as Deadline notes, the test result of one of the project team members ended up being false positive.

At the end of October, several members of the film crew of the Reagan biopic starring Dennis Quaid were diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Director Sean McNamara stressed that he considers it necessary to first of all take care of the health and safety of the team, in connection with which work on the project was interrupted indefinitely.

The epidemiological situation was also reflected in the Western "The More They Fall" by James Samuel with Idris Elba and Zazi Bitts.

After one of the actors fell ill with coronavirus, filming was stopped.

Over the past month, due to the coronavirus, the production of a number of other projects was interrupted, but to date, work on them has been resumed.

These films include the action-packed action movie Cop Shop with Gerard Butler, the serial drama The Gilded Age with Christine Baranski, and the second season of Charmed, a reboot of the popular project of the same name that aired in the 1990s and 2000s.

Apparently, the filming of the comedy sitcom "Sheldon's Childhood" began again.

Also in early October, it was reported that the production process had to be revised by the crew of the fantastic film "Jurassic World: Domination."

They were all isolated.

According to Variety, the filming of the project did not stop, however, under the circumstances, the filmmakers were forced to work on secondary scenes for two weeks.

By now, the filming of the tape is fully completed.

At the same time, the studio Universal, engaged in production, decided to postpone the premiere for a year - from June 11, 2021 to June 10, 2022.

As Deadline notes, the postponement is not related to filming lag.

Most likely, on the new date, the tape will collect a more significant box office.

Other major Hollywood companies are also continuing to delay their most anticipated releases.

Last week, Disney announced the decision to reschedule the premieres of The Protagonist, starring Ryan Reynolds, and Death on the Nile, starring Kenneth Branagh, Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer.

Both were due out in December.

Also, Disney refused theatrical distribution of one of its most anticipated animation projects - the Soul tape.

The film will be released on December 25 via the Disney + video service.

Warner Bros., in turn, postponed the premiere of Denis Villeneuve's fantasy drama Dune with Timothy Chalamet, based on the novel of the same name by Frank Herbert, from the end of 2020 to October 1, 2021.

"Batman" by Matt Reeves has been moved from October 1, 2021 to March 4, 2022.

The fourth "Matrix" will now be released a few months earlier - December 22, 2021 instead of April 1, 2022.

Such anticipated films as "Flash" (November 4, 2022), "Shazam!

Rage of the Gods ”(June 2, 2023) and“ Fantastic Beasts 3 ”(Summer 2022).

True, the transfer of the latter may not be associated with the coronavirus pandemic: it became known soon after Johnny Depp turned down the role of the wizard of Grindelwald at the request of Warner Bros.

Hollywood blockbusters still scheduled to premiere in 2020 include the fantasy adventure Wonder Woman 1984 from Warner Bros.

and the animation "The Croods 2: Housewarming" from Universal Pictures.

Both films are expected to be released in Russia on December 24.
