A bronze statue of the characters from the popular manga "Attack on Titan" was completed in Hita City, Oita Prefecture, the birthplace of the author, Hajime Isayama, and the unveiling ceremony was held.

The statues of the three characters from "Attack on Titan" were set up in the Oyama Dam Square in Hita City by a group working on town revitalization using the works.

The wall of the 90-meter-high dam is likened to a wall built to protect humans from the giant, and the scene where the characters saw the giant for the first time through the wall is reproduced.

About 200 people, including those who provided the funds, attended the unveiling ceremony, and the visitors were immediately taking pictures of the statue.

A woman in her thirties who visited from Saitama Prefecture said, "It was a lot of fun to share the excitement with the fans."

The author, Hajime Isayama, who attended the unveiling ceremony, said, "I am impressed. If the Attack on Titan is useful for the hometown of Hita City, I would like to continue to cooperate."
