Din Djarin and L'Enfant on a speederbike in Tatooine in "The Mandalorian".

Last week,

The Mandalorian

made its comeback on Disney + with a western-style episode that introduced Cobb Vanth, the Marshal played by Timothy Olyphant and kept alive the hope of a return of Boba Fett… A pleasurable episode certainly, but which did not advance the story much.

In this season 2, the Mando Din Djarin seeks other Mandalorians in his quest for the likes of Baby Yoda.

Here is our recap 'of

The Passenger

(

The Passenger

), Chapter 10 or second episode of Season 2 of

The Mandalorian

, who gets the adventures of Mando and Baby Yoda right where season 1 had left.

[ATTENTION “THIS IS THE SPOILERS” ON EPISODE 2 OF SEASON 2]

Having struck a Dragon Kait,

The Passenger

(

The Passenger

) sees our hero, Mando and Baby Yoda way to Mos Eisley on a speeder bike.

Western atmosphere always, as in episode 1 (or chapter 9), in the distance, bandits are preparing an ambush.

If Mando loses control of his speederbike, it doesn't take long for him to settle his score with his opponents, except for one, who has grabbed baby Yoda and threatens him with a knife. .

Mando offers to exchange Baby Yoda for his cargo, namely the Mandalorian armor he recovered from the Marshall in episode 1. The thug sets his sights on Din Djarin's Beskar jetpack.

The bandit then undergoes a funny setback by crashing miserably ... This death by jetpack snatches some laughter, the trademark of the director Peyton Reed, to whom we owe

Ant-Man

, who directed the episode.

A very strange passenger

Mando and baby Yoda finally manage to reach Mos Eisley on foot and find Peli Motto, in the middle of a game of cards with a giant ant, "Dr. Mandibule" in the cantina.

Ant might have a contact who has information on other Mandalorians, if Mando hedges his bet.

The contact in question is a frog-like mother and her egg laying egg, who needs to be transported to the harbor moon of Trask, "a Mandalorian hideout", where her husband awaits.

The catch?

Mando's ship, Razor Crest, will not be able to hyperdrive, as his spawn - the last of his line, will not support light-speed travel.

Baby Yoda seems fascinated by eggs.

During the journey, Baby Yoda becomes as fond of the Passenger's Eggs as

Star Wars

fans of

the Easter Eggs, much to Din Djarin's chagrin, once again struggling with the joys of parenthood.

Two X-Wings of the New Republic

And as if that wasn't enough, a New Republic patrol catches up with the ship demanding the ship's transponder codes.

"May the force be with you," Din Djarin politely answers them, apparently not up to date in terms of paperwork.

The two X-Wing pilots are set to let go of Razor Crest with a warning when the events of Chapter 6 overtake Din Djarin.

Remember, Mando had boarded a prison ship from the very young Republic to exfiltrate a prisoner.

Mando flees with the two X-Wings after him.

There follows a chase towards a snow-covered planet, the scenery of which is very reminiscent of Hoth.

Razor Crest crashes, leaving our heroes, their passenger and her precious cargo, deep in an ice cave.

Giant spiders

As Mando tries to repair the seriously damaged ship, the frog explores the cave and bathes in a hot spring.

Baby Yoda, who really does not make Din Djarin's task easier in this episode, takes the opportunity to taste one of the many eggs that dot the perimeter of the cave.

(Note Baby Yoda's propensity to swallow whatever comes to hand, especially if it's not tasty!)

All of a sudden the eggs hatch and countless spiders (which look like Kryknas from

Star Wars Rebels)

start chasing our heroes… They are followed by their mother, a gigantic arachnoid creature.

The western of episode 1 turns in this episode 2 to a tribute to monster films.

Our heroes manage to find refuge in the cockpit of their ship.

While the creature attacks the windows of the latter, all seems lost….

Then the two X-Wings appear to come to the aid of Razor Crest, everyone is saved.

The two pilots threaten to arrest Mando for the kidnapping of prisoner X-6-9-11, but ultimately change their minds in view of Mando's other feats of arms.

Din Djarin had a colleague of theirs, Lieutenant Davon, help last season.

"Fix your transponder," they warn before leaving our heroes stranded with a seriously damaged ship.

Mando, Baby Yoda, the passenger and her spawn manage to take off again.

The episode ends with The Child, mischievous and insatiable, devouring an egg of the passenger.

Direction Trask for episode 3 or chapter 11.
