Six publications wins the 12th Etisalat Children's Book Award

The Etisalat Children's Book Award, organized by the UAE Board on Books for Young People and sponsored by Etisalat, culminated in six publications in its 12th session, offering 1.2 million dirhams to a group of Arab writers, illustrators and publishers distributed among its six categories, and its program specialized in the manufacture of child literature (workshop).

The award revealed the winners during a ceremony organized remotely, as 174 writers, 158 illustrators and 93 publishers competed for this year’s award session, whose contributions came from different countries of the world.

And won the Children's Book of the Year award (300,000 dirhams), the book "Layali Shahrazizi: A Tale Within a Tale Within a Tale", authored by Hadeel Ghneim, and drawings by Sahar Abdullah, issued by Dar Al-Balsam for Publishing and Distribution, Egypt.

And the Young Adult Book of the Year award (200,000 dirhams) won the book “Shema Al-Numan” by Haya Saleh, issued by the Jasmine House for Publishing and Distribution, Jordan.

The best silent book award (100 thousand dirhams) won the book "The Apple", the drawings of Abdullah's affection, and the idea of ​​Asma Amara, issued by Dar Al-Buraq for Children's Culture, Iraq.

While the best text award (100 thousand dirhams) won the book “Words” written by Jacar Khorshid and Drawings by Maha Daher, issued by Nejmeh House, Syria, the book “I and the Beast”, written by Aisha Abdullah, won the prize for the best drawings of 100,000 dirhams. Al-Harthi, and cartoons of Baraa Al-Awour, issued by Ashjar House for Publishing and Distribution, UAE.

The award for best directing, in the amount of 100 thousand dirhams, went to the book "I will be fine", written by Dr. Essam Asmir and When Azar, and drawings by Hanan Al-Qae, issued by Jabal Amman Publishers, Jordan.

The award allocated 300 thousand dirhams for the "Warsha" program that it organizes with the aim of building the capacities of Arab youth in writing and drawing.

For his part, Advisor to the CEO and General Manager of a Telecom Company in the Northern Emirates, Abdulaziz Tarim, said: “In our support for the award, we look forward to stimulating and sponsoring energies so that creative people will continue their projects in books, writing, drawing, design, etc., in addition to this, the award expresses our vision towards achieving the desired development in The state at various levels economically, culturally and socially ».

For her part, the President of the Emirates Board on Books for Young People, Marwa Al-Akroubi, affirmed that «the award today renews the celebration of honoring creative talents who have ambitious projects capable of building generations of masters of literature and art capable of creating their future consciously and beautifully», adding that «the award chose a category that does not make and compose books. But it creates the future. Every achievement we celebrate is a new step to enrich the Arab Children's Library with high-quality publications, and every addition to our children's library is an investment in their future. ”
