Because of Corona ... Denmark plans to eradicate all minks

A news report said that Denmark intends to cull all its mink animals due to the COVID-19 disease caused by the Coronavirus.

"Russia Today" quoted the agency "Bloomberg" that this step comes amid fears that a strain of the Covid virus can be transmitted to humans, which may have mutated, which may undermine efforts to seek to provide an anti-virus vaccine.

Denmark says it has found a new strain of the Covid-19 virus that may impede efforts to develop a vaccine, after an outbreak in mink animals in the country caused a mutation in its composition.

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen told reporters: that her government has transferred information to the World Health Organization, and is now planning to eradicate all mink animals in Denmark, noting that about 16 million animals are raised every year.

And the Danish government announced early last month that it plans to cull up to one million mink animals that were raised in fur farms to prevent further spread of the new Corona virus.

The execution includes 41 mink fur farms in western Denmark, where the virus was discovered in a herd of animals, as well as 21 fur farms suspected of being infected.
