Dai-ichi Life 89-year-old ex-employee Trusts customers with a special title and steals 1.9 billion yen or November 6, 4:18

An 89-year-old former employee of Dai-ichi Life was allegedly collecting about 1.9 billion yen from customers illegally, and the former employee was given a special title four years ago and continued to work. I understand.

The company has a policy of compiling recurrence prevention measures, including the abolition of the title, and submitting it to the Financial Services Agency, considering that the former employee may have trusted the customer with this title.

A former 89-year-old female employee who was enrolled at Dai-ichi Life's base in Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, offered a fictitious transaction to a customer, saying, "We will operate in a'special frame'with 30% interest." The company accused the police of defrauding him on suspicion of fraud.

It is estimated that at least 21 people have illegally collected about 1.9 billion yen.

The former employee was given the title of "special investigator" even after the age of 85, when the contract was not renewed because the insurance business performance was so excellent, and he continued to work.

The "special investigator" was the only title among the approximately 40,000 sales representatives nationwide.

The company suspects that a former employee used these titles to trust customers and fraudulently collected cash.

In addition, three years ago, the company received suspicious external inquiries and continued to monitor former employees, but as a result, it was not possible to prevent the damage from spreading.

The company plans to summarize the investigation results such as the background of the problem and the internal management system and the recurrence prevention measures including the abolition of the "special investigator" and submit it to the Financial Services Agency at the beginning of the week.
