A distribution of fabric masks, made in Ariège, to primary school students in the Occitanie region.

This is the initiative announced on Wednesday Carole Delga (PS), the president of the community, "to support parents in the face of the cost incurred" by the new obligation linked to confinement for children from 6 to 11 years old.

These masks will be distributed free of charge "in school buses, as well as in hotels and regional centers".

Rapid tests for high school staff

Concerning high schools, for which the regional council is directly responsible and where movements of concern are emerging, the elected representative plans to launch, in coordination with the rectorate and the regional health agency, campaigns of antigenic tests (therefore fast) for staff.

The idea is to identify and isolate possible cases more quickly to "guarantee the continuation of the courses".

Finally, "because each establishment is unique and the sanitary rules are not uniformly applicable", Carole Delga suggests to Jean-Michel Blanquer, the Minister of Education, to grant high schools "a day or a half-day closing from next week ”, so that they have time to organize themselves and to reflect in particular on the circulation of pupils.
