Refusal to wear a mask refuses to take a taxi. Approved by the government for business application November 4, 11:58

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has approved the new coronavirus infection prevention measures that taxi operators in Tokyo have applied for.

Even if the user is asked to wear a mask, if the driver refuses to ride for no reason, the driver can refuse the ride, which may spread to the industry in the future.

Ten major taxi companies and private taxis in Tokyo can refuse to board the taxi if the driver asks the user to wear a mask but is refused without a valid reason such as illness. I applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to change the rules set for each business operator.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the rules of business operators do not uniformly refuse people who do not wear masks, but the driver basically asks the user to wear a mask. We have approved the applications of these 10 operators as a measure to prevent infection of passengers.

In the background, there was a consultation that the driver was worried because there was a user who was drunk and talked loudly without wearing a mask.

This is the first time that we have approved the rules of businesses that require masks to be worn as a reason for refusing to take a taxi.

In the future, it may spread as a measure to prevent the infection of the new coronavirus in the taxi industry and other public transportation systems.
