Although there were surprising discoveries here 12 years ago, according to the person in charge of the project, judging from the current exploration and excavation results, there have been no more significant discoveries.

  Nanjing Deji Plaza is located in the core of the Xinjiekou business district in the city. It is also the top shopping "paradise" in the city, and its location can be described as "an inch of land".

In 2008, at the location of the second phase of Deji Plaza, surprising cultural relics and a number of exquisite Buddha statues of the Six Dynasties were unearthed.

It is located at the archaeological excavation site with tall buildings and downtown. Twelve years ago, the Six Dynasties Laughing Buddha, ancient wells, and ancient temples were discovered a thousand years ago.

  According to the local media "Modern Express", Professor Wang Zhigao, the director of the Department of Cultural Relics and Museology of Nanjing Normal University, who participated in the 2008 archaeological project of the plot, introduced that in 2008, the archaeological excavation of the plot found temple ruins and a southern dynasty In the brick well, more than 40 gilt bronze Buddha statues of the Southern Dynasty were unearthed in the ancient well. Some of them were built in 527 AD and are nearly 1500 years old.

These bronze statues are exquisitely crafted and are praised as the "smile of the Six Dynasties" because of their smiles.

  Based on historical records, the plot is located about one kilometer outside the palace of the Six Dynasties. Many archaeologists have infinite associations with the history of the site and cultural relics buried underground.

  On the 4th, Chen Dahai, an associate researcher of the Nanjing Institute of Archaeology and the person in charge of the Qingshi Street archaeological excavation project, told reporters that it was precisely because of the archaeological discoveries in 2008 that development companies and Nanjing City were quite cautious about the construction of the plot. From the beginning of 2017 when the archaeological exploration entered the east side of the plot, it was fully rolled out in the first half of this year. In order to prevent omissions, the entire archaeological excavation area was expanded to more than 2,600 square meters based on the principle of With the surrounding high-rise buildings, all areas that may be opened have been carefully cleaned and dug deep."

  "According to the current excavation situation, during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the land was backfilled on a large scale, and there are many traces of ditches, ponds and depressions. This shows that the land was not a flat piece of land at that time. It may be an urban area. The suburban rivers outside the prosperous area, so no important ancient relics were left; further down, we also found some Six Dynasties strata in some areas. After all, this was once the periphery of the Six Dynasties Palace, and there are some common tiles in the Six Dynasties architecture. The excavation of cultural relics such as, porcelain pieces is relatively normal, but there are no more important sites or cultural relics discovered." Chen Dahai introduced.

  "At present, the entire project has come to an end, and the unearthed cultural relics are also being sorted and stored in batches." Chen Dahai said that it is expected that the archaeological excavation project, which lasts for more than three years, will be completed in the middle of this month, and acceptance will be applied.
