  • Coronavirus: What are the CCAA that are confined?

  • Principado.Asturias asks the Government for home confinement and Illa discards it: "We neither work on it nor do we foresee it"

The

second wave

of the coronavirus pandemic continues to leave very worrying figures.

The Ministry of Health has notified

55,019 new cases of covid-19,

4,334 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to 1,240,697, and that of deaths to 36,257, 777 in the last seven days and 379 more since the figures reported last Friday.

According to the data provided by the communities, and taking into account that Catalonia has not been able to update its data due to technical problems, the

Basque Country is in first place in terms of new infections

in the last 24 hours, with 790;

followed by Aragon (692), Galicia (529), Navarra (525), Extremadura (371), Andalusia (342) and Madrid (317).

The Minister of Health,

Salvador Illa, will

preside today a bilateral meeting by videoconference with the

Principality of Asturias

to analyze the situation of the pandemic.

The Community notified yesterday that it will ask Health

for

home confinement

for the next 15 days, as well as suspend "all non-essential economic activity" as of Wednesday and establish a curfew at ten o'clock at night, two hours after current.

Although Illa has already advanced that he rules out decreeing house confinements in the coming days and has expressed his confidence in the measures included in the new state of alarm.

In addition, much of

Europe is heading towards a new confinement of the population

to avoid the collapse of health services.

However, this criterion and the ways of putting it into practice are not the same in all of them.

Global cases of Covid-19 were above 46 million yesterday, after a day in which

223,280 new infections

were reported

on the planet,

according to statistics from the WHO, whose director general,

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus,

was is in quarantine after having had contact with a positive case of covid-19.

Deaths in the pandemic have risen to 1,196 million and in the last day 3,718 new deaths were reported in the world.

7.00 The Community of Madrid lifts the perimeter closure of the region

The Community of Madrid has lifted this midnight the perimeter closure of the region imposed during the holiday weekend of All Saints, with which entries and exits will be allowed again.

However, the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has already announced her intention to return to the perimeter confinement of the La Almudena bridge (November 9), although this measure will be debated next Wednesday by the central government and the autonomous communities in the Council Interterritorial on Wednesday, day 4.

Although the confinement of the Community has ended at midnight, the curfew will remain in force from twelve at night to six in the morning and the mobility and activity restrictions in 35 basic health areas (ZBS) where the accumulated incidence of coronavirus is older.

The last three sanitary areas to join have been this Monday the Oliva Valley (Majadahonda), with which the entire municipality will be confined since its other ZBS (Cerro del Aire) was subject to these limitations for a week, and those of the Barrio del Puerto and Doctor Tamames, in Coslada.

To these are added another 32 health zones, subject to these anticovid measures since last October 26 and where they will be in force until next Sunday, November 8.

Since the beginning of this strategy, on September 21, the restriction measures in these population centers have resulted in a reduction in the number of hospital admissions and diagnosed cases.
