"Atlético Madrid has reached an agreement with Valencia for the transfer of Geoffrey Kondogbia"
, officialized this Tuesday, November 3, Atlético in a statement released after the successful medical examination of the former Monaco player and Inter Milan, 27 years old.
The transfer amount was not specified, but according to Spanish media it amounts to around 15 million euros.
The Central African international would have signed until 2024.
Bought to replace Thomas Partey
Kondogbia became Diego Simeone's priority after Arsenal paid the € 50million release clause from Ghanaian Thomas Partey to lure him to England on the last day of the summer transfer window on October 4.
Atlético de Madrid has therefore obtained an additional month to recruit a player who is playing in the Spanish league.
But Kondogbia, cold with his former club, will however have to wait to evolve in the Champions League with the
"Colchoneros"
.
