WHO Director-General Tan Desai said that the new coronavirus causes long-term health effects, and the so-called “natural herd immunity” strategy is unethical and unfeasible.

Only when safe and effective vaccines are distributed equitably around the world can herd immunity be achieved.
Tan Desai emphasized that the government and people must do all they can to contain the spread of the virus before getting the vaccine.
