Princess of the Kingdom of Bhutan gets married

She married Princess Yufilma Chuden Wangchuck, the princess of the small kingdom of Bhutan, located in the Himalayas.

And the royal family announced that the 27-year-old princess had married Dasho Thinley Norbu, who was one year older than her, in a ceremony held last Thursday at the main royal palace.

The bride is the half-sister of the current king Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, while her husband is the younger brother of the current Queen Jetsun Pima.

Princess Yovilma Chudin Wangchuck studied sociology in the United States.

She is also the chairperson of the Bhutan Paralympic Committee.

Her husband studied in India, trained as a pilot, and worked for the Bhutanese airline, Drak Air.

The Wangchuck family has ruled Bhutan for more than 100 years and is highly respected in the landlocked country between India and China.
