On October 28, there was a bumper harvest of apples on the loess plateau in Lingtai County, Pingliang City, Gansu. Farmers picked apples in the woods.

Lingtai County is located on the southern edge of the Loess Plateau in eastern Gansu. It has deep soil and rich light and heat resources, which is very suitable for apple growth.

After more than ten consecutive years of development, the local orchard area has reached 226,700 mu, the total fruit output has remained at about 180,000 tons for four consecutive years, and the annual output value has reached 900 million yuan. Fruit income accounts for more than 30% of farmers’ per capita net income. 21,800 poor people rely on the apple industry to get rid of poverty.
