Worry about the hairline: after 90 to the left, after 00 to the right

"After returning home from overtime work that day, I opened my hair in the mirror and was startled by my hairline." Recalling the night when he decided to transplant his hair, 28-year-old Shen Hao still remembers fresh.

Shen Hao is a programmer for an Internet company in Beijing. Although he has only worked for more than a year, he can hardly count the days he worked overtime until late at night.

He is very introverted when dealing with codes every day, and his hairline shift makes him taciturn, "wearing a hat all day, I hate myself".

There are many people like Shen Hao who are troubled by hair loss.

According to the "Rescue Hair Loss Fun White Paper" released by an e-commerce platform, the post-90s accounted for 36.1% of the consumers who purchased hair transplant and hair care products on the platform, and they will soon overtake the post-80s generation with 38.5%. The main force of hair loss troubles.

However, there are no shortage of post-00s who are now entering the hair transplant.

Hair transplant after 90s: demolish the east wall to make up the west wall

"I don't want to be like my grandfather." The old man in the phone photo of Shen Hao, bald.

However, the signs of his hair loss came earlier.

Shen Hao's forehead was very high. "When I was a junior, a freshman called me'teacher' when he opened his mouth. It was too depressed." Shen Hao said that his classmates also felt that they were very old.

Gradually, Shen Hao, who had always been careless, became less cheerful, even "not willing to go out".

He started to pay attention to his hair, and bought anti-drop shampoo and some hair care products online, but the improvement effect was not satisfactory.

Studies have shown that the increased expression of the androgen receptor gene in the hair follicles and/or the increased expression of the type II 5α reductase gene in the hair follicles in the hair loss area leads to an increase in the effect of androgens on susceptible hair follicles, which in turn causes the hair follicles to appear progressively miniature. Change and fall off.

Generally speaking, the initial stage of hair loss can be improved by medication, and hair transplant surgery is generally the last choice.

Zhang Han was born in 1993.

He started to lose hair since high school and took a lot of drugs that inhibit androgen secretion intermittently, which alleviated the problem of hair loss to a certain extent.

After graduating from university, his job made him a "stay-up first-level champion."

It's just that taking the medicine again can't save the hair that insisted on abandoning him.

Compared with medical treatment, the effect of hair transplant surgery is more "immediate". For example, where the type of hair loss is, the effect can be seen within 6-12 months, and the accuracy is higher.

Hao Jiayin, a consultant for a hair transplant organization, said, “Among the people who come to hair transplant, the financial and IT industries are the most.”

Li Xinfeng, director of the Medical Management Department of Yonghe Hair Transplant, said that the principle of hair transplant is not complicated, that is, let the posterior occipital hair follicles, which are least sensitive to androgens, support the hair loss area.

The posterior occipital hair follicles are also a limited and non-renewable resource. Simply put, this is a process of "removing the east wall and replenishing the west wall".

Therefore, those who are in a stable period of hair loss are suitable for hair transplant surgery.

The price list of a well-known hair transplant institution shows that the cost of hair transplant is calculated in units of hair follicles.

Different surgical procedures, due to their differences in precision, range from 10 yuan to 100 yuan/unit, hairline transplantation is 13 yuan/unit, and encrypted hair transplantation is relatively more expensive, with 20 yuan per unit of hair follicle.

At the end of 2018, Shen Hao took a rest day for hair transplant surgery.

He lay down on the hospital bed and first performed hair follicle extraction. Six doctors were busy around him, injecting anesthetics and saline to ensure that the scalp was fluffy.

In 8 hours, more than 2,000 hair follicles on the back occiput moved Shen Hao's hairline forward by one centimeter.

In fact, surgery is only the first step.

What Zhang Han was really worried about was the months after the operation.

For example, in the postoperative hair loss period, not only the hair transplant area, but also the hair in the originally healthy area will also fall.

On the one hand, he was worried that his 40,000 yuan would have been lost. On the other hand, one hair follicle would be lost. If the new hair fell out this time, he might not have the courage to do it again.

  Fortunately, his operation was successful.

Now, one year later, no one can see the traces of his hair transplantation. When he returned home, even his parents did not ask if he had any hair transplantation.

"Although the doctor said that the transplanted part of the hair is'permanent', but he still dare not stay up late." Shen Hao said that since the transplant is finished, he no longer works overtime day and night, even if the project is on schedule, he will urge himself as soon as possible carry out.

"Now my hair is valuable." Shen Hao said with a smile.

Zhang Han's anxiety comes from the follow-up maintenance of his hair. If the situation is not good, he plans to do encryption again.

After 00: "I want a star with the same hairline"

In the reception hall of the Sanlitun branch of Yonghe Hair Plant in Beijing, a huge Led panel is eye-catching.

Most of the panel dynamically displays the live broadcast of the Yonghe hair transplant operating room across the country. People are constantly walking into the operating room wearing hospital gowns, and the "hidden corner" above the head is also fully exposed.

On the other side of the panel, some numbers are dynamically updated. For example, nearly half of the hair transplant population are post-90s and post-00s.

Jiang Wenjie, deputy chief physician of the Hair Transplant Center of the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, said in an interview that the back shift of the puberty hairline is irreversible, but some people are faster and some people are slower.

However, Li Xinfeng, who is in the hair transplant industry, found that not all hair transplant recipients choose surgery because of hair loss.

He found that hair transplants are gradually changing from a functional type to an aesthetic type, and this trend is particularly obvious among young women.

"Many young women have specific aesthetic standards such as Korean hairline, traditional Chinese beauty tip, wavy hairline, etc., and they will also customize according to the requirements of star hairline. For example, girls like to take photos of Zhao Liying, and boys are more inclined to Wu Yanzu And Andy Lau," he said.

"The proportion of female customers relative to male customers has begun to increase. In terms of demand, most male hair transplants are for the sake of youth, and women are more for perfection." Brand Director Ding Jun also expressed similar views.

Wu Xuan is a junior at Southwest Forestry University this year.

Her trouble lies in the brain door that appears in the wind when running-the hairline is high and her bangs have been inseparable from childhood.

"One time I took a wash, I used a hair band to hoop all my bangs up, and my friends soon looked on. They said that my face value dropped a lot without bangs." Wu Xuan laughed at herself with her friends, but she was also in her heart. He further strengthened the determination of hair transplant, "I did not consider any hair growth products, and went straight to hair transplant."

In late July this year, accompanied by her mother, Wu Xuan wished to undergo surgery at the hair transplant institution where her cousin had transplanted hair seven years ago.

2585 hair follicle units, along the black marker, turned into petal hairline and beauty tips, blowing away the "childhood shadow".

Although she knew there was a shedding period of 1-3 months, Wu Xuan was still frightened looking at the small hair stubble on the sheets and pillows-15 yuan per follicle unit, "all the money is lost."

For two months, Wu Xuan took care of the new hair follicles on her forehead, looking forward to the new hair as if she was waiting for seeds to germinate.

Fortunately, Wu Xuan waited, and the newly rooted hair appeared one after another.

If you recover well after half a year, everything will be as you wish.

According to Li Xinfeng, there are not a few post-00s who come to transplant their hair with the attitude of becoming beautiful.

Some parents even bring their children who have just finished the college entrance examination to transplant their hair, for example, "Good test scores, reward a hairline!"

After 00, Wang Sa, majored in Broadcasting and Hosting at Communication University of China.

She will work part-time in some event hosting jobs on weekends, and the income saved in a few months will be used to move the hairline forward by about 1 cm.

Although Wang Sa’s consulting physician believes that she “has a lot of hair and her hairline is within the normal range.”

Encryption and hairline planting on the top of the head can no longer satisfy young people's thirst for beauty.

Ren Zhongjiao, Beijing Dean of Biliansheng Hair Plant, said that growing beards, eyebrows, and sideburns are becoming projects sought after by young people.

Many men choose to move the posterior occipital hair follicles to the sideburns and beards in pursuit of a sharp silhouette.

Compared with filling the hairline, this type of project requires few follicle units, "basically a few hundred units."

Do young people really need hair transplants?

Increasing demand for additional issuance is leveraging business opportunities for enterprises.

According to data from iiMedia Consulting, the market size of my country's hair transplant industry in 2016 was about 5.7 billion yuan, and by 2019 it has grown to about 16.3 billion yuan, an increase of about 186%. It is expected that by the end of 2020, the market size will exceed 200. 100 million yuan.

Ding Jun, who has been engaged in the medical industry for many years, said that in 2017, the scale of the hair transplant market developed rapidly and gradually transformed from the medical beauty branch to an independent industry.

A staff member of a well-known hair transplant organization admitted that their Beijing hospital is under emergency expansion, and the directly operated hospitals will be expanded from 32 to 50.

Another hair transplant institution opened a branch every two or three months on average. “In 2005, we could only perform 10 to 20 operations a month on average, but now it has grown to 6000 units per month.”

The market scale has been "high-flying", and major companies are constantly competing for user increments.

Compared with the early overwhelming online information flow advertisements, today's hair plant advertisements have a tendency to spread to outdoor places.

The competition in the industry is becoming increasingly fierce. How to stand out in the hearts of consumers is the first thing that many hair transplant organizations have to solve.

Although outdoor advertising is like finding a needle in a haystack, it can constitute a high-frequency and compulsory reach to users, which is a good opportunity for brands to gain popularity.

Therefore, many hair transplant advertisements only have a few simple and crude characters-"XX hair transplant".

Zhang Yu, President and CEO of Yonghe Hair Transplant, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Medical Aesthetic Professional Committee of the Chinese Integrative Medicine Association, calls it the "education market."

In this regard, he gave a set of data: At present, the overall advertising in the hair transplant industry accounts for 25%-30% of turnover.

For Yonghe Danjia, before 2016, online advertising accounted for more than 95%, and now this number has dropped to 60%, which corresponds to an increase in outdoor advertising to 40%.

In elevators, bus stops, subway passages, etc., hair transplant advertisements always hit people's hearts with the simplest pictures and copywriting.

Not only offline, but "makes people bald", "human dandelion", "other people lose my hair alone"... Young people are more and more inclined to move hair topics to the table for discussion, even young people who are not troubled by hair loss are willing to join To this kind of jokes.

They have created one after another internet hot stalk, pushing the topic to a new climax.

Life is bald and wailing everywhere, but from a medical point of view, an ordinary person normally loses 30-100 hairs every day, and seasonal hair loss also occurs from time to time.

As long as it does not belong to seborrheic alopecia, after improving short-term factors such as staying up late and stress, the hair loss situation may get better.

For nearly 30 years in the industry, Duan Xingwu, chief physician and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Dermatology, Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, has a conservative attitude towards hair transplants. He hopes that young people will pay more attention to hair loss itself.

"The incidence of hair loss among young people is getting higher and higher. Genetics and lifestyle habits are important factors affecting hair loss. Regardless of whether it is adjusting work and rest time or using hair care products, it may have a delaying effect, but it cannot completely disappear. "Duan Xingwu said.

Staying up late, eating irregularly, and working pressure are becoming the norm for many young people.

"These bad lifestyle habits may lead to hair loss. Many hair growth products on the market are just gimmicks, which capture the anxiety of young people, but they cannot eradicate hair loss." Duan Xingwu said that if living habits improve, the symptoms of hair loss will naturally be relieved. And the state of the whole person is healthy."

Zhang Yu also said, "The treatment for hair loss is a pyramid, and hair transplantation is only the top of the pyramid."

He went on to say that medicines, maintenance, lasers, etc. can all achieve certain results. The key is to choose different methods at different stages under the guidance of professional physicians.

In a social platform, articles sharing hair transplant experience are still being discussed in full swing.

Wu Xuan came up to update her hair transplant diary from time to time, and she showed her forehead generously.

The "famous friends" who came to ask for the strategy are eager to try, but she will also reply to each other: "It is best to understand your own situation first and understand your needs."

(At the request of interviewees, Shen Hao, Zhang Han, Wu Xuan, and Wang Sa are all pseudonyms.)
