Since yesterday, Beijing subway stations have been equipped with AEDs (automatic external defibrillators). According to the plan, by the end of 2022, this kind of emergency equipment used to rescue patients with cardiac arrest will be fully covered in Beijing subway stations.

In addition to the laying of AED equipment, the Beijing Emergency Center will also locate the AED equipment in the subway and connect it to the emergency center.

If someone around you has a cardiac arrest and is life-threatening, in the "golden four minutes" of life-saving, do you dare to use AED to complete first aid?

In the program on October 28, "News 1+1" connected with Chen Zhi, director of the Beijing Emergency Center Training Center, and paid attention to it.

1. Can ordinary people use AED?

Is the operation risky?

Chen Zhi, Director of Training Center of Beijing First Aid Center:

According to Chinese laws and regulations, AED is designed for non-professional general public.

The trained general public can use it, and everyone can use it under the scheduling of 120, but in fact, anyone can use it in an emergency.

First, it is safe, and second, its instructions are very clear, so its risk is very small.

2. Are there many people who dare to use AED?

How many successful cases have used AED to rescue?

Chen Zhi:

Based on observations for so many years, most of the public in society dare not use it first. Some people dare not use it even after training, and some people do not want to use it.

How many people were saved by AED?

In fact, there are very few, but there are still.

As far as I know, there are cases of ordinary people using AED to rescue people in Shenzhen subway station, Hangzhou railway station, and Shanghai airport.

3. With AED, why does the public "daunt to save"?

Chen Zhi: The

public will consider: ①What should I do if I have insufficient abilities and "save it"?

②Will you bear legal responsibility in case of "salvage"?

③Is it necessary to save him, or wait for 120 to come?

4. Save your life first before you can save your life

Rescue emergency, critical, serious, and injury requires time. For the most critical disease, cardiac arrest, the cerebral cortex begins to die irreversibly after four minutes, and the train of life basically leaves the station within ten minutes.

Life goes on and on, so you must shoot within four minutes. Only when you save, can you talk about how much you might be saved.

There is a "good man law" in our country, and some basic mistakes you make are completely exempt from legal responsibility.

After all, saving lives is related to the lives and health of others. It is not a child's play, nor is it perfect all at once. This kind of contradiction will always exist.

Therefore, it is necessary to vigorously promote first aid training and carry out various job trainings to let everyone master first aid skills, and the public must also actively participate. A person must spend at least one day in his life to participate in first aid skills training.

5. Legal exemption, why are there still many people who dare not save people?

Chen Zhi:

On the one hand, the public may have relieved some of their worries after seeing the legal exemption, and they are willing to act boldly.

On the other hand, some people think that even if the law is exempted, they still don’t want to save them. They are mainly concerned about their lack of skills and worry about making mistakes. In case the patient has more serious problems due to technical errors, he is not rescued. This is a psychological problem. I'm very sorry about it.

6.

How do you think that most people will choose to operate the AED with the staff when saving lives?

Chen Zhi:

According to the specific situation, the purpose is to get the AED to the patient's side and use it as soon as possible.

It is more feasible to find staff to operate together, because the public first aid training rate is not large, and many people may lack skills in this area.

There is only one AED at each subway station, and staff can quickly get it. At the same time, staff are trained to use AEDs efficiently.

However, those who are willing to operate independently are also very encouraged, because the AED itself is used by non-professionals, so there is no problem in using it independently.

7. Recommendation: AED setting standards should be unified in the future

Chen Zhi: In the

future, China will still need a unified standard, just like a fire hydrant. When you see the red box, you will immediately reflect that it is a fire hydrant.

In the future, it is recommended that the country introduce a standard so that everyone knows that this is an AED when they see this box.

As far as I know, the Beijing Municipal Government, including the National Health Commission, is also doing this work.

8. Is the use of AED efficient nationwide?

Chen Zhi:

As far as I know, in cities equipped with AEDs, such as Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, including Beijing, there are cases of using AEDs to save lives.

Beijing installed an AED in Baiyunguan. A staff and non-professionals used the AED to rescue a tourist from cardiac arrest. Therefore, as the AED becomes more and more widely deployed, these examples will become more and more frequent. many.

9. All large public places serving the public should be equipped with AED

Chen Zhi:

First of all, to solve the problem of

existence and nonexistence

, all large public places serving the public should be equipped with AEDs.

Many cities have introduced first aid legislation, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Haikou, etc., requiring first aid supplies in public places.

The Beijing Municipal Government issued Beijing’s first aid legislation in 2017. In February 2018, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission issued a list of first aid facilities and equipment in public places, requiring public places to be equipped with a first aid kit and an AED.

10. How to solve the low rate of first aid training for the public in China?

Chen Zhi:

① The society must vigorously promote it, and everyone must be aware of first aid.

②Some things should be done systematically. For example, first aid training should be included in the basic education of the whole nation. When children go to kindergarten, they should do some first aid training for the age group of kindergarten children; in elementary school, first aid knowledge needs to be expanded. Middle schools, high schools, universities, and other on-the-job education must be included in first aid education and training.

There is already an article on cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the compulsory textbook "Sports and Health" in 2018 ordinary high schools. In the future, all ordinary high school students in China will learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation in physical education.

In the general high school English textbooks to be published this year, there is a chapter on first aid, which includes burns, trauma, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Therefore, the knowledge of first aid has now been popularized in high schools. In the future, it is hoped that these first aid training will be arranged in junior high schools, elementary schools, kindergartens, including adult on-the-job education.

At the same time, it is also advocated that the public should work hard to discover some opportunities, create some opportunities, and accept first aid courses organized by various professional organizations.

AED, known as the "life-saving artifact", is a portable, easy-to-operate first aid device specially designed for on-site first aid.

How to use AED?

"News 1+1" invited Chen Zhi, director of the Beijing First Aid Center Training Center, to show everyone on-site.
