The halls of the Parc-Expo will be able to rest.

The Liberty speakers will not vibrate, any more than those in the Salle de la Cité.

A little over a month before the event, the management of the Trans Musicales festival announced on Thursday the cancellation of its edition, which was to be held from December 2 to 6.

The decision to confine all of France until at least December 1 made it impossible to organize the festival, even if it was redesigned.

“We didn't want to resign ourselves,” organizers said in a fatalistic statement.

In the aftermath of the announcement of an imposed re-containment to contain the new outbreak of the epidemic, the situation has changed.

We don't want our desire to maintain the festival to turn into relentlessness ”.

It is not a surprise but it is now official.

The organization had tried to adapt to health constraints by leaving the Parc-Expo and its impossible gauges in times of Covid, before writing “a new scenario” at the announcement of the night curfew.

It was the seventh time since confinement that the Trans programmers had tried to organize.

Wednesday evening, the announcements of President Emmanuel Macron showered the last hopes of offering concerts.

For the first time since 1979 and the creation of the festival, Rennes will not vibrate for its Trans.

“Sometimes you have to know how to press pause and get in tune with the environment you are in.

This is also where the spirit of responsibility and solidarity is played out, ”summarize the organizers.
