The Brest CHU welcomed four new patients with Covid-19 from the South on Wednesday.

After receiving four patients hospitalized in Nîmes on Tuesday, the city of Ponant this time took care of four patients who were in intensive care in Avignon.

To justify this second transfer, the Regional Health Agency mentions "a distribution of the effort in the face of the epidemic rise" and specifies that "the current availability of resuscitation in Brittany makes it possible to achieve this reception within the framework of national solidarity between regions ”.

At the same time, the ARS has asked all hospitals and clinics in the Breton region to activate their “white plan”, allowing them to deprogram non-urgent interventions and to reassign staff to Covid units if necessary.

This plan also allows establishments to recall personnel "when reinforcements are not sufficient".

The region currently has 175 places in intensive care.

A capacity that could be doubled in the event of an epidemic peak.

On Wednesday evening, 52 people were in intensive care in Breton hospitals and 300 other patients were hospitalized in a Covid unit.

Figures that have been steadily increasing in recent days but which have not yet experienced an explosion, allowing the region to relieve other saturated hospitals.

In 48 hours, just under 2,000 new positive cases were recorded in the region, bringing the incidence rate to 173 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Ille-et-Vilaine remains by far the most affected department with an incidence rate of 253 even if its progression has remained contained over the last two days.
