Gérald Darmanin announced Wednesday the dissolution of the Muslim association BarakaCity in the Council of Ministers.

In a tweet, the Minister of the Interior accused her of "relations within the radical Islamist movement" and of "taking pleasure in justifying terrorist acts".

The BarakaCity association was dissolved in the Council of Ministers this morning.

As detailed in the decree that I presented, it incited hatred, maintained relations within the radical Islamist movement, took pleasure in justifying terrorist acts.

Founded in 2010, this humanitarian association was one of the structures in the crosshairs of the authorities since the assassination of Professor Samuel Paty.

At issue: messages from its president, Driss Yemmou, said Idriss Sihamedi, which could be "characterized as apological for acts of terrorism", the Interior Ministry said in a document.

He "incited hatred, maintained relations within the radical Islamist movement, took pleasure in justifying terrorist acts", argued the Minister of the Interior.
