In February 2019, Svenska Dagbladet's long-time lead writer Per Gudmundson took the job as press manager for the Christian Democrats' party leadership staff.

- I have been given a rare chance that I can not say no to, he said then.

Returns to journalism

But now, just a year and a half later, he is leaving the party.

On the sixth of November he makes his last working day.

- It depends on two things.

On the one hand, the staff management decided to reorganize a bit in the office with new roles in the press section.

Then it became a little unclear which function I filled.

On the one hand, I have received a very attractive job offer in opinion journalism.

Reviews of Busch

In recent weeks, there have been many reports about party leader Ebba Busch.

Partly about her participation in an acquaintance's birthday celebration and about a well-known house deal, which Expressen wrote about.

But according to Per Gudmundson, there are no conflicts behind his departure from the party.

- Really not.

It has been fantastic fun years and I have learned a lot.

I have gained insight into a party organization that few journalists are blessed with.

He does not want to reveal which new workplace is waiting.

- My new employer wants to communicate this himself, says Per Gudmundson.
