An examining magistrate in Paris will resume investigations into accusations of rape targeting Gérard Depardieu, after an appeal by the complainant against the dismissal of the initial investigation, AFP learned on Wednesday from a source close to the case confirmed by a judicial source.

The complainant, a young actress who denounces several rapes and sexual assaults in August 2018 at the actor's Parisian home, relaunched her complaint after the classification of the investigation by the Paris prosecutor's office in June 2019.

"I was not informed" of the appointment of an examining magistrate, reacted with the lawyer of the star of the French cinema, Me Hervé Témime, who evokes "a non event, being a decision automatic ”.
