The “Arab Reading Challenge” qualifiers concluded, in its fifth round at the national level, in Kuwait and Bahrain, with the coronation of two new champions.

The two champions of the challenge, national winners in both Kuwait and Bahrain, will participate in the final competitions that will take place later, to choose the champion of the year’s edition at the level of the Arab world from the Arab Reading Challenge, the largest knowledge initiative of its kind in the Arab world, which has witnessed in its current session the participation of more than 21 One million participants, from 52 countries around the world.

Kuwait student Alia Louif Abdullah Al-Ajmi (from grade 11, Um Al-Hayman High School) won the Arab Reading Challenge title from among 85,923 students from 928 schools from different parts of Kuwait, followed by 1,400 supervisors and supervisors.

In Bahrain, Ali Reza Al-Araibi (from the preparatory stage at the Jaafari Religious Institute School) won the title at the level of the Kingdom, after knowledge competitions, in which 174 thousand and 152 students, from 232 schools, participated with the guidance and support of 600 supervisors and supervisors.

Mashael Al-Enezi won the title of Distinguished Supervisor, Al Zahra School won the title of Distinguished School in Kuwait, while Iman Ibrahim Mohammed won the title of Distinguished Supervisor at the level of Bahrain, and Arrad Primary School for Girls won the title of Distinguished School.

In view of the conditions in the region and the world, and the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of "Covid-19", the results of the final qualifiers of the fifth session of the Arab Reading Challenge were announced at the level of Kuwait and Bahrain, in two digital events through visual communication technology, in which each of the: Minister of Education and Minister Higher education in Kuwait, Dr. Saud Al-Harbi, the Minister of Education in Bahrain, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, and the Secretary-General of the Arab Reading Challenge Project, Mona Al-Kindi, in addition to a number of experts, educators and those in charge of implementing the initiative.

For her part, Mona Al-Kindi said: “The Arab Reading Challenge, organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, continues its mission to enhance the role and position of the Arabic language, support the educational system, and empower students with literacy skills that allow them to enrich their knowledge, thus contributing to the upbringing of an armed generation. With knowledge, and able to change the reality of his society for the better ».

He added: “The importance of the initiative lies in its role to stimulate the cultural spirit of our Arab nation, at a time when the Arab identity is exposed to the greatest challenges, and has made reading an ingrained habit among the people of the Arab world, as it strengthens their knowledge, broadens their perceptions, and improves their skills in analytical thinking, criticism, writing and expression.” .
