The establishment of a new containment, which will come into force for four weeks overnight from Thursday to Friday, and the deployment of a new strategy of screening tests and contact tracing "once the epidemic peak has passed" must allow "to hold until the vaccine", assured Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday.

During a speech delivered at 8 p.m. while France is facing a second wave of coronavirus, the President of the Republic indicated that such a treatment would be available "in the summer", according to "the scientists".

Among the various "tools" to be deployed over the coming months, after confinement, "we will [...] set up many more test platforms through innovations", the Head of State said in particular, citing in particular the rapid tests in thirty minutes.

“We must collectively deploy the TousAntiCovid application much more massively” and the isolation of positive people must be “more effective”, continued the Head of State.

To allow "a sudden brake on contamination" during this new confinement, Emmanuel Macron also called for "the mobilization of all".

"Stay at home as much as possible, respect the rules", invoked the President of the Republic, who asked the French to limit "meetings with family and friends, even if it is heartbreaking".
