  • Almost all indicators are "in the red".

  • Twelve patients with Covid-19 died in one week.

The coronavirus epidemic continues to grow strongly in the Alpes-Maritimes.

The latest figures, published this Wednesday by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur are - almost - all oriented upward.

Starting with the number of patients positive for Covid-19 admitted to intensive care: they are 44 according to data from the ARS, which represents an occupancy rate of available beds of 84%.

That figure stood at less than 54% a week ago.

With an incidence rate (which corresponds to the number of positive people per 100,000 inhabitants) of 239, the Alpes-Maritimes are still on the upward curve four days after the establishment of a 9 p.m. curfew.

That rate was 167 a week ago.

Fewer hospital patients?

However, the department is the only one in the Paca region to remain, for the moment, below the 250 mark. For comparison, the Bouches-du-Rhône has an incidence rate of 516!

Another indicator on the rise in the Alpes-Maritimes, the positivity rate: it reached 13.7% against 10.8% a week ago.

This result, specifies ARS Paca, is “not the only consequence of the new screening policy which aims to prioritize analyzes: the acceleration of viral circulation continues.

"

Twelve deaths in one week

The only downward trend concerns the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized.

They are now only 153 according to the ARS Paca, that is to say 44 less than a week ago.

A figure in contradiction with the data published by Public Health France, which counted 247 hospitalized on October 27, or 54 more than a week ago.

In the past seven days, 12 people with Covid-19 have died in the Alpes-Maritimes, bringing the total number of deaths to 246 since the start of the epidemic.
