The work of producing a new hymnal is underway.
The project is extensive and of course many have views on what a new book should contain.
The association Ekho, which represents Christian LGBTQ people, hopes that the new psalm texts will be chosen with care.
- For us, it is very important to have an inclusive language when describing God.
Trying to use "God" and "You" as pronouns instead of "Father" and "He", says Johanna Wikberg, priest and chairman of Ekho.
- You can describe God as "father" and "he" from time to time, but not always.
It limits the image of who God is.
"Everyone should feel involved"
Why is this an important question?
- It is about everyone feeling involved in the service and feeling: this language is relevant to me and how I look at God.
There are many who long for something new.
Do you want to change the language of old hymns as well?
- Well, I do not know if it is possible for copyright reasons.
The goal is not to delete all "he" and all "lord".

Hoping for new wedding hymns
Johanna Wikberg also hopes for more hymns that broaden the picture of what a marriage is.

- Today there are not many marriages that are popular from an LGBTQ perspective.
There will be a lot of summer hymns, such as "The flowering time is coming", she says.
- The Church's view of marriage has changed: from being a legal institution to becoming a unifying love union.
