Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen have been cast as opponents in the new
Platonic
comedy series
that will be released on Apple TV.
The actors who appeared together in the films
Neighbors
(2014) and its sequel play two estranged childhood friends,
The Hollywood Reporter
reports
Tuesday.
In addition to the actors,
Neighbors
director Nick Stoller is also working on the project.
Apple has ordered ten half-hour episodes.
It is not yet clear when the series should appear on the platform.
Platonic
's story
revolves around two childhood friends who break off contact after an argument, but meet again as adults.
The renewed friendship has a big impact on their lives and so they have to rethink certain choices.
The Australian Byrne earlier this year signed for a leading role in the Apple series
Physical
, about the aerobics hype in the eighties.
In
Neighbors
(published in some countries as
Bad Neighbors
),
Byrne and Rogen played
a married couple who compete with the nuisance students who live in the house next door.
The sequel
Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising was released
in 2016
