  • There are now five PCR screening mega-drives in Toulouse, compared to six at the beginning of September.

  • This decrease is explained by the opening of seven Covid-19 consultation centers, managed by independent doctors.

  • Across the Haute-Garonne, 23 are planned to be opened in the coming days to deal with the upsurge in positive cases.

No need to rush to Borderouge or Bellefontaine to do a PCR test without an appointment.

These two Covid-19 screening mega-drives, open to the general public for several weeks, closed their doors on Friday in Toulouse.

They have been replaced by another, installed in the Zénith car park, where samples are taken in the morning.

As on the one on the Alain-Savay esplanade, on the allées Frédéric-Mistral, or even in Les Argoulets.

With the two sampling centers managed by the Toulouse University Hospital in Purpan and at the Université Paul-Sabatier metro station, there are now five mega-drives in the Pink City, against six at the beginning of September.

A drop in the number of sites which could seem paradoxical, the situation being more critical today than two months ago.

But these screening centers managed by the Regional Union of Biological Health Professionals of Occitanie and the City of Toulouse will now be supported by the arrival in Toulouse of seven Covid-19 consultation centers, managed by liberal doctors.

Three this week, three on November 2

There, symptomatic people will be examined by practitioners, after being referred by their doctor.

“These medical consultation centers include screening.

Today, general practitioners are seeing more and more symptomatic people in their practice, it is these patients who will be referred to consultation centers, ”said François Chollet, the elected representative from Toulouse in charge of coordinating the health crisis.

One of these consultation centers, managed by SOS Médecins, is already in operation on Route d'Espagne.

Two others are opening this Monday next to the mega-drives of Argoulets and allées Frédéric Mistral, in prefabricated units made available by the town hall.

On Thursday, another will see the light of day in the Zénith car park.

And as the president of the departmental council of the Order of Physicians, Stéphane Oustric, expects an "explosion" of cases in the coming days, three other consultation centers will be set up on November 2: in Minimes, near the boules pitch, in Jules-Julien, in the theater car park, and in Pradettes, near the Bordeblanche entertainment center.

Across the Haute-Garonne, it is planned to open 23 in the coming days to deal with the upsurge in cases.

Some are already on the bridge at Colomiers, Saint Jory, Cornebarrieu or even Frouzins.
