Isolation for 3 days before Umrah for those coming from outside Saudi Arabia

As Saudi Arabia prepares to receive pilgrims from outside the Kingdom, the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Abdel Fattah Mashat, revealed four levels that will be relied upon to measure the extent of the spread of the Corona virus, and to measure the level of risks in the countries from which the pilgrims come.


He confirmed, in statements to the London-based Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, that they will be subjected to a medical isolation that will last for three days, the moment they reach Saudi Arabia from various outlets, before performing the Umrah rituals.


He said that 10% of the operating capacity has been allocated to hotels eligible for housing pilgrims to put in cases of isolation and suspicion, and Saudi Arabia will provide treatment, according to its policy, to all those present through the comprehensive insurance service.


Regarding the number allowed for each regiment to perform the rituals, the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah said that the number will reach 3300 pilgrims for each group, and this group will be allowed to be inside the campus for approximately three hours to perform the Umrah rituals to ensure the implementation of the procedures, and the entry of the groups will be through the gathering centers of pilgrims established by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. In direct coordination with the General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health.


He explained that pilgrims and pilgrims will be allowed to come, according to reports issued by the concerned authorities, which reflect the severity of the virus in those countries, and that upon the arrival of pilgrims to its lands, Saudi Arabia will be keen to apply all health requirements and preventive measures.


He pointed out that there are a set of procedures and controls set by the Ministry of Hajj in coordination with the concerned authorities, including special controls for age groups as pilgrims between the ages of 18 to 50 years will be received, and it is preferable for the pilgrim or pilgrim to be free from any chronic diseases in order to preserve his health and safety, with The existence of the "BCR" statement, which is a basic requirement for issuing visas, provided that the validity period of the statement is valid 72 hours before the date of arrival.
