China News Service, Hefei, October 26 (Reporter Zhang Kaixin, Zhao Qiang, Sun Hengye, Zhang Jun) In Tangxihe Park, Baohe District, Hefei City, Anhui Province, is located the Hefei (Baohe) Data Center for 5G Smart Connected Vehicles (hereinafter referred to as " Data Center”), as the “brain” of Hefei’s intelligent networked car demonstration line-Anhui Province’s first autonomous vehicle 5G demonstration line (hereinafter referred to as the "demonstration line"), it turns traditional roads into "smart roads", Turn traditional cars into "smart cars".

On October 25, the interview team of the "2020 Fingertip Cities" network theme event hosted by the Central Cyberspace Administration and hosted by China News Network walked into Baohe District, Hefei, Anhui, to experience the "smart cars" on the "smart road".

According to reports, the Hefei Intelligent Networked Vehicle Demonstration Line is formed by the four roads of Luzhou Avenue, Fangxing Avenue, Huizhou Avenue and Zhongshan Road. It is 4.4 kilometers long and has a total investment of 30 million yuan. The construction content includes 5G network coverage and road perception. Equipment installation, transportation facility upgrades, data centers, 5G scenario applications, etc., can realize vehicle-road collaborative advanced assisted driving and L4 level autonomous vehicle operation tests.

On September 3 this year, the demonstration line was officially opened for operation. At present, first-tier domestic and foreign manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Baidu APOLLO, JAC, Weilai Automobile, Ankai Bus, and Chery Automobile have launched online tests and provided test rides to the general public.

The reporter saw in the Ankai bus that the entire compartment was full of technology and the cab was in a fully automatic driving mode.

Turning voice prompts, traffic lights are timely and intelligent, and it takes about 20 minutes to walk down a circle.

Wang Zhongchuan, director of the New Technology Research Institute of Anhui Ankai Automobile Co., Ltd., introduced that the company started to develop driverless vehicles in April 2017. In December of that year, two vehicles were already running on the open road in Shenzhen Futian Free Trade Zone. The cities currently in operation include Wuhan, Tianjin, etc. Hefei also officially started operation in September this year.

"5G intelligent connected cars have good reliability and can realize more convenient and smarter travel and driving." According to Wang Zhong's legend, according to the bus (autonomous driving), large-scale operation can be realized around 2025, and unmanned driving (technology) At a certain stage of development, it will replace most drivers. The future (travel) development direction is mainly automatic driving, which can solve the phenomenon of urban congestion. In addition, the application of 5G and big data can analyze the entire road condition distribution and vehicle on-road analysis. Clearly, the future is the world of autonomous driving.

The driver, Master Yu, told reporters that the car mainly tested traffic light recognition, obstacle recognition, and turn recognition on the road. At present, it can only run on designated routes.

Compared with traditional cars, its advantages are quick response, smarter and safer.

But when encountering complicated roads, the brakes will be relatively urgent.

The reporter saw in the data center that the cloud control platform system of the center is running in an orderly manner in real time. The six flashing dots on the platform correspond to the six intersections of the demonstration line section. By deploying intelligent roadside terminals at these intersections, Intelligent connected sensing devices such as microwave radar, video detection cameras, fisheye cameras, and edge computing devices can realize holographic perception of the intersection environment and transmit them to the cloud control platform in real time through the 5G network.

In addition, the intersection information obtained through the series of intelligent sensing devices is summarized to the roadside terminal, and the real-time traffic conditions of pedestrians, vehicles and non-motor vehicles at the intersection can be seen, including the number of passes and the trajectory of movement.

By installing roadside equipment, traditional roads will be turned into "smart roads".

At the same time, connected vehicles are also equipped with smart on-board terminals. Through on-board smart devices and connected technologies, they receive information from the roadside and the cloud, turning traditional cars into "smart cars."

According to the relevant person in charge of Baohe District, Hefei, the opening of the demonstration line is an important step in the district's acceleration of the overall development of the intelligent networked automobile industry.

In the next two years, Baohe District will continue to start the intelligent transformation of Hefei Port, the big data cloud computing platform for intelligent connected vehicles, new energy charging piles, closed test sites for intelligent connected vehicles, and the quality supervision and inspection of national intelligent connected electric vehicles. The construction of key projects including the center and the 5G intelligent networked automobile industry development center.
