It was not science fiction.

Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff hid well under the parrot costumes in

Mask Singer

.

The revelation concluded the program broadcast Saturday on TF1.

This Monday, the two brothers come back to this experience for

20 Minutes

.

Why did you accept the “Mask Singer” adventure?

Grichka:

We have a deep and ancient connection with music.

We founded a band when we were teenagers, then we continued in classical and other forms of music.

Linking this deep affinity with this very astonishing spectacle that is

Mask Singer

seemed obvious to us.

Igor and I have a distance from ourselves, we take every opportunity not to take ourselves seriously.

This creates the diversification of our on-air presences.

We adopted Saint-Exupéry's maxim: “To be oneself is to give oneself leave.

As we are in the natural plurality thanks to our twinning.

The fact of doing things very distant from us, since we are known in the register of science and seriousness, gives us a degree of freedom that Igor and I like to be able to use on occasion.

Why did you choose these parrot costumes?

Igor:

It's a production proposal, which we accepted with joy.

When we saw the sketches, it seemed beautiful to us, with colors, feathers… And the parrot is an exotic animal.

This costume goes to meet our exoticism.

It was perfect.

The jurors were not very convinced by your singing skills.

Do you understand their reservations?

Grichka:

It's a game, everyone is in their role.

For the first, on the contrary, there was very strong support from the jury, caught up in the flame of flamenco [Igor and Grichka sang

Bamboleo

by the Gipsy Kings].

Regarding our second passage, the song

Yesterday

, we had initially planned in reserve but the programming made that we interpreted it.

It was a bit on the wrong foot, we weren't completely in it and it wasn't really our register which is more Latin comic.

Kev Adams said that

Mask Singer

was made to ignite while we were in something soft and intimate.

It's true that this register was not the best choice for a second show, that's how it is.

We were not at all destabilized by the criticisms, on the contrary, we always take them in a constructive way.

What are your projects ?

Grichka:

We have a big project that has been delayed due to the coronavirus crisis.

It will be launched on April 21, 2021. This is the return of our scientific program,

Temps X

, which we produced for eight years on TF1.

We will talk about science, but also science fiction.

It will be launched on the Net and accessible everywhere, including on the planet Mars, that goes without saying!

(laughs)

Will it be a dedicated site?

A YouTube channel?

Igor:

It will be a special platform that will aggregate magazine and documentary content, including our program, but also fiction in the field of animation and SF.

It will be a global offer.

Our program will be multilingual.

Thanks to a technology that we have developed, volumetric video, we will speak with the right lipsync, the right movement of the lips, not only in French but also in Chinese, Japanese, etc.
