Behind Whitney Houston's revival is the American company Hologram USA.

To some extent, Hologram USA works like other agencies.

They have their stable of artists who perform and tour.

The big difference is that all Hologram USA artists are deceased.

- Working with dead people is much easier than working with living people.

You do not have to feed them, listen to their problems, babysit them or wait for them to be on time.

They always arrive on time, says Alki David, CEO and founder of Hologram USA.

Sensitive response

Greek media entrepreneur Alki David is seen as something of an eccentric billionaire.

He has previously produced films, acted and started several online streaming services.

Through one of his streaming services, Battlecam, he has created several other controversies and contributed to his reputation by offering one million dollars to anyone who runs naked in front of President Barack Obama.

Battlecam also announced that they would broadcast an assisted suicide of a cancer patient, which turned out to be a public relations ploy.

But now it's digital revival that applies to the media entrepreneur.

- Overall, the response has been enormous.

Fans, like all hardcore fans, are initially shocked and angry.

But a little controversy is good, it draws people in.

A biography movie or a wax doll in a museum are not controversial.

But to say that we will make a Whitney Houston hologram creates a lot of emotion.

Several artists on hologram tour

The technique behind Whitney Houston's resurrection is the same as that used at Tupac Shakur's performance at the 2012 Coachella Festival. 16 years after the rapper's death, Tupac stood on stage as if he had never been away.

Just like Michael Jackson when he appeared as a hologram at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.

The hologram company has stars such as Dean Martin, Nat "King" Cole, Liberace, Billie Holiday and Whitney Houston in its stable.

Production of Whitney Houston's hologram is underway and the plan is for Houston to begin touring as a hologram in 2016.

- When I grew up in the 80s, I fell in love with her.

We forget how damn amazing she was.

She was the best-selling female artist ever in world history.

She is an outstanding talent.

You do not become an icon just like that, says Alki David.

Many want to resurrect Whitney

The desire to bring a beloved icon to life again is great even in Sweden.

Last winter, a session was arranged to contact Whitney.

Behind it was the author and producer Petter Wallenberg, who at the release party for an issue of his magazine "Mums" with the theme of death called in for mass sessions.

Hundreds of people came to honor Whitney.

- We took a medium there and agreed to contact Whitney Houston.

And it aroused such enormous interest.

Everyone came and wanted to have contact with Whitney, says Petter Wallenberg who continued with the Whitney theme with his new song "I need a man" which was also inspired by the icon.
