Four years ago, the bereaved family of a bus accident that killed 15 people including university students in Karuizawa Town, Nagano Prefecture held a meeting in Tokyo, and on January 15, next year, which is the fifth year since the accident, all the bereaved families of university students I decided to call on the bereaved families to give a memorial service.

The bereaved family association of the bus accident that killed 15 people including university students in Karuizawa Town in January 2016 was postponed due to the influence of the new coronavirus, but gathered in Tokyo on the 24th for the first time in 10 months. We talked about future activities.

After the meeting, Yoshinori Tahara, the representative of the Bereaved Families Association, held a press conference, and on January 15, next year, five years after the accident, all 13 bereaved families of the victims wanted to visit the memorial monument near the accident site. It was revealed that he would call on the bereaved families.

In addition, the Bereaved Families Association has requested the National Police Agency to establish a mechanism to prevent the renewal of the Type 2 license required for bus driving if the driving skill is insufficient, in order to prevent the recurrence of similar accidents. I had been doing this, but I will make another request on the 20th of next month to hear about the progress of the National Police Agency's efforts.

Mr. Tahara said, "Next year is the 5th anniversary, so we want to give a memorial service to all the bereaved families in order to appeal for prevention of recurrence without weathering the accident."
