The activities of the career counseling program, organized by the Dubai Women's Foundation and Nordic Embassies in the country, began yesterday with an inaugural session via the Internet, with the participation of the Foundation’s Executive Director, Shamsa Saleh, and a number of ambassadors and representatives of Nordic embassies, and 33 female employees from the government and private sectors. Sharing knowledge and experiences

Saleh added that “the program is the fruit of a memorandum of understanding signed by the Dubai Women's Foundation with the embassies of the Nordic countries, during the activities of the Global Women Forum - Dubai 2020, which was held last February under the slogan (The Power of Impact), following the organization's organization in cooperation with the Embassy of Denmark in the country Last December, the Forum (Women in the Workplace ... a common vision between the Emirates and the Nordic countries), with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experiences in the field of supporting women in the UAE and the Nordic countries, and discussing the best ways and policies that support their social and employment role and the elements for success in establishing and managing entrepreneurship projects. .

The Executive Director of the Dubai Women Foundation affirmed the depth of relations between the UAE and the Nordic countries, praising her distinguished international experiences in the field of women's support.

And she continued, "Through the program - which will last for a year - we seek to exchange experiences and knowledge with these friendly countries, based on the common vision that supports women in various fields and at all levels."

Leaders in the public and private sectors from the Nordic countries participate in the program’s presentation, as a leadership from them has been assigned to every Emirati employee in the same specialization, so that she is guided and guided towards career development paths, through individual meetings that are held between them periodically over an entire year.

Saleh expressed her thanks to the mentors and trainers, wishing success to Emirati female employees who belong to governmental, private and semi-governmental institutions, in a way that will positively affect their personal and professional lives and benefit their institutions and human cadres.

Sultana Saif, Director of the Women’s Development Department at the Dubai Women’s Foundation, said, “The program includes bilateral meetings between Emirati participants and mentors and female guides from Nordic countries, and their results will be evaluated periodically, in order to ensure maximum benefit,” explaining that “the program aims to Supporting female employees while they are at the beginning of their careers, by providing them with the necessary expertise to build capacities, refine personal and professional skills, introduce the best ways to achieve a balance between family and work life, create an environment that stimulates creativity and productivity, and prepares plans and goals.

She pointed out that «the program also aims to strengthen communication and relations with women leaders in the Nordic countries. Hence, the first meeting was held under the slogan (Connecting Minds) in keeping with the slogan of the International Expo Dubai 2020 (Connecting Minds and Creating the Future), as graduation certificates will be delivered in November 2021 at the headquarters of this global event ».

The Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to the UAE, Mariana Nesila, expressed her happiness in partnering with the Dubai Women’s Foundation in implementing the career counseling program, adding: “Nordic countries and the UAE share a long-term commitment to empowering women and promoting gender balance, and share visions in an understanding that active participation Women in the labor market are crucial to achieving sustainable and inclusive social and economic development, and they are key to achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
