[Explanation] On October 24, the innovative stage play "Dream Shadow · Peony Pavilion" jointly created by artists from Shanghai and Macao will premiere in Shanghai. This is also the first collaboration between Macao and Shanghai opera circles.

On the eve of the premiere, the reporter exclusively interviewed Li Huiyin, the producer of the show, the chairman of the Macau Chinese Kunqu Opera Cultural Association, the vice chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Association and the chairman of Macau.

  The "Peony Pavilion" we often see before focuses on the text itself, but our "Dream Shadow · Peony Pavilion" is the first time in history that someone used a stage play of Kunqu Opera to show the story of Tang Xianzu's visit to Macau.

  [Explanation] Tang Xianzu's famous work "The Peony Pavilion" is the first Chinese drama work to appear in Macau.

Li Huiyin said that one of the major difficulties in creating this play is to popularize the history and culture of Macau by mainland screenwriters who have never set foot in Macau.

  Li Huiyin's love for Kunqu opera originated from the "Peony Pavilion" performed by Bai Xianyong when she graduated from university.

Kunqu Opera took root and sprouted in Li Huiyin's heart. She first learned Kunqu opera singing through online lectures, then went to Hong Kong to learn her figure, and went to Nanjing to apprentice. She persisted for 8 years.

  I think Kunqu Opera is very beautiful, its words, its costumes, its appearance, and its stage blank space are all my favorites. I imagine the Chinese beauty should be like this.

There is a saying in the Peony Pavilion called, "I don't know where it comes from, and it grows deeper". I think it is a very good way to describe my relationship with Kunqu Opera.

  [Explanation] Out of the unshirkable responsibility of promoting Kunqu Opera, Li Huiyin established the Macau Chinese Kunqu Opera Cultural Association two or three years ago, and he serves as the chairman of the conference.

Through "sending the show to the campus", free lectures and support from the cultural department of Macao, the association has grown from two individuals to more than 60 members.

  There are many fans now, they may have listened to my lectures, or often watch my circle of friends, they understand what Kunqu opera is.

At least many people now know that Kunqu opera is the ancestor of a hundred operas, and no one asks me again whether Kunqu opera is a local opera in Kunming.

  [Explanation] In Li Huiyin's mind, she must have patience to perform well in Kunqu opera.

She regrets that she has not been able to study since she was young, but she firmly believes that "As long as you work hard, you can learn well at any age."

  You have to settle down, let go of this time, let go of your energy, and then you can get some results.

I think patience is very important, and practice is also very important. I have never said that talent is not talented. I think practice is the most important thing.

  [Explanation] Some people say that Kunqu Opera in China is declining and has few successors, but Li Huiyin said that now is the best time to promote it.

  Now we come to create the IP of "Dream Shadow Peony Pavilion", I think it is the best time.

Because of the current national tide culture, the younger and diversified Chinese culture is the current trend.

Moreover, the cultural, creative, cultural and tourism industry is now very prosperous. As a Macau person, I also want to bring my IP with Macau elements to the Mainland and to the world. We hope that this IP can continue to go forward.

  [Commentary] The good news is that the tickets for "Dream Shadow · Peony Pavilion", which will be performing for 3 consecutive days, have been very happy, and the seats have been filled for 2 days.

Not only is it a stage play, but Li Huiyin is currently developing peripheral cultural and creative products. For example, clothing that uses the play as a blueprint will be the first to land in Macau Fashion Week to meet with the public.
