The Sharjah Antiquities Authority confirmed that it has completed 90% of the first phase of the restoration and maintenance of the ancient towers in Sharjah, by the authority’s teams, in accordance with its program concerned with protecting the archaeological sites in the emirate, specifically the towers, forts and defensive sites that were taken during the previous centuries of a defensive and military character, and are an important part Of the tangible heritage, and a complementary element to the rest of the archaeological heritage, and it is expected that the work of the first phase will be completed before the end of this year.

The authority announced that its teams were able to complete the first phase of the project in each of Kalba Fort, Al Talaa Tower, and Budaniq Tower, noting that the works were successfully carried out through the authority’s teams, with their competencies, qualifications and experiences, which contributed to achieving remarkable success and accomplishing tasks in Good time.

The objectives of the program are to preserve the authenticity of the site and its archaeological value, to reduce threats and damage resulting from natural factors, to preserve the archaeological site from any interference that affects and threatens the integrity of the archaeological site, to facilitate visitor access to the sites, and to learn about its various components and components.
