[Explanation] According to the Internet, a suspected tomb of the Tang Dynasty was found during road construction in Tianshui City, Gansu. When a reporter from China News Agency drove to the site on the 21st, he saw an excavator stopped at the construction site, and there were a lot of excavation marks on the ground and surrounding mountains. , The construction site has become "a piece of flat land", with only a pit of less than one meter and the few remaining tomb bricks stacked together.

A cordon has been set up in some areas of the construction site, and the temporary colored steel room set up nearby can facilitate the 24-hour police on duty.

The news received at the scene was that "the main structure of the tomb has been destroyed, and there is nothing left except a few piled tomb bricks."

This suspected tomb is about 40 kilometers away from the Maijishan Grottoes, a world cultural heritage site, and belongs to the winding ramp of the Tian (Shui) Zhuang (Lang) Expressway.

The online video shows that there are painted murals on the walls of the tomb with the words "Qian Fu Four Years" written on it.

According to historical records, "Qian Fu" is the name of Li Yan in the late Tang Dynasty.

Tian Jinfeng, head of the Cultural Relics Unit of the Maiji District Cultural Tourism Bureau of Tianshui City, Gansu, said in an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency that the cultural relics in the online video with murals and the shape of the ancient tomb are no longer visible. They came to the scene. The main structure of the tomb has been destroyed by the construction staff.

After we received the feedback from the higher-level network supervision department, we checked the situation with the local township government. According to the procedure, our cultural relics department requested experts from the higher-level cultural relics department to assist in the investigation. The current situation is due to our cultural relics experts coming this morning. I did a preliminary survey of a scene. At that time, it was a mound.

[Explanation] Duan Junqi, the person in charge of the ninth section of the Tianzhuang Expressway, told a reporter from China News Agency that what was reported was a tomb. After he arrived at the scene, he found that it was a tomb. Since 17 earthen graves were dug before, each piece was given to family members. The cemetery was relocated at a compensation rate of 4,000 yuan, so it misled the construction workers and regarded it as an ordinary cemetery. According to the cultural relics information, the site also has no cultural relics. Therefore, according to the current inference, the construction personnel involved made a mistake in judgment.

I finally came over and learned that it was an excavator driver, and two or three might pull the dirt truck. At the beginning, they reported that it was a tomb, but did not say that it was a tomb. This is after I got to the scene and watched the video posted on the Internet. Knowing that this is not a tomb, but a tomb. Before the excavation of the earth, we give them special training and education.

[Explanation] Tian Jinfeng said that it is still not completely certain that it is a Tang tomb. After the archaeological exploration is over, it is determined that there are no other cultural sites or ancient tombs in the surrounding area.

We are preliminarily suspected of the Tang tomb, because the (Gansu) Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, including experts in various fields, has not yet reached a conclusion. It has not yet come out, including judicial appraisal, and we cannot say that it is definitely a Tang tomb. According to the requirements of the Protection Law, he is now required to completely suspend work in the involved area, and then resume work according to the situation when the results of the subsequent handling are released.

[Explanation] According to information from the public security department, the ancient tomb was dug up on the morning of the 19th. After preliminary investigations, the cultural relics department issued an opinion letter and criminally detained the three suspects on the evening of the 20th.

As for the tomb bricks and other things in the ancient tomb?

The public security department said that the case is still under investigation, and the cultural relics department needs the final identification result of the ancient tomb.

The Gansu Provincial Public Security Department and the Gansu Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau have listed the case as a key provincial-level supervision case.
