Wade Robson and James Safechuck, the two men who accuse Michael Jackson of sexually abusing them as children, still have things to say.

Dan Reed, who collected their testimonies in

Leaving Neverland

, is currently filming the sequel.

He filmed the two in court during their legal disputes with MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The legal representatives of Michael Jackson's companies were obviously not thrilled to see the filmmaker's cameras in the courtroom.

As Deadline relays, Dan Reed and his company Amos Pictures have received a summons asking them to hand over all their material and films relating to

Leaving Neverland

and its possible sequel.

Support and assignments

Dan Reed objected, arguing he was a UK resident and his company did not operate in California, making it impossible for a California judge to seize his work.

On the other hand, the documentary maker is directing this sequel on behalf of the British channel Channel 4, which has given him its full support.

"In particular, we at Channel 4 oppose their efforts to use subpoenas to try to coerce Reed and his company into handing over all unpublished material and dragging this reporter into giving depositions," said Louisa Compton, Channel 4 news officer, in the 79-page motion filed by Dan Reed in response to his subpoena.

She also recalled "the strong legal protection of freedom of expression" and the work of journalists to which the United States and the United Kingdom are subject.

For the moment, HBO, which had broadcast

Leaving Neverland

, is not associated with this sequel.

The American channel is on trial with the Jackson clan, which accuses it of breach of contract.

In 1992, in order to broadcast a concert by Michael Jackson, the channel had made an agreement with the King of Pop in which it undertook not to denigrate him.
