Oirase Gorge in autumn colors Allows private cars to pass due to corona measures Towada Aomori October 23, 5:23

In order to prevent the infection of the new coronavirus at Oirase Gorge, a famous spot for autumn leaves in Towada City, Aomori Prefecture, we have stopped the shuttle bus service so that we can pass by car.

Aomori Prefecture is calling for avoiding busy daytime hours.

The Oirase Gorge is one of the most famous spots for autumn leaves in Tohoku, where beech and maple trees spread. While operating buses, we have restricted the passage of private cars and motorcycles.

However, this time, we decided that the so-called "three crowds" would be unavoidable inside the bus, and while we stopped the bus service, we decided not to restrict the passage of private cars.

The leaves are still beginning to color, but many tourists are driving and the roads along the mountain stream are crowded.

A woman from Nara Prefecture said, "The autumn leaves are not in full bloom yet, but it feels good to take a walk in nature."

The Aomori Prefectural Road Division says that heavy traffic is expected around the area on Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th, avoiding the time zone from 9 am to 3 pm and heading to Lake Towada. At that time, we are calling for the use of "Oirase Bypass" instead of Route 102.
