The - bad - figures concerning the circulation of the coronavirus suggested an extension of the curfew in other cities of Occitania.

After the metropolitan areas of Toulouse and Montpellier, other areas in the region will be subject to curfew, all exceeding the critical threshold of 250 new positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

This Thursday evening, Jean Castex indicated that a large part of the former territory of Midi-Pyrenees would be subject from Friday evening to the same restrictions as 54 other departments.

In the departments of Ariège, Aveyron, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne and Hautes-Pyrénées, the movement of people will be prohibited between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. with some exceptions and for a period of six weeks.

High positivity rate

Since October 17, only 43 municipalities in the greater Toulouse area were affected by this measure.

From this Friday evening, the entire Haute-Garonne department will be subject to it.

Only the neighboring departments of Aude, Lot or Gers are therefore not subject to these restrictions.

In its last weekly bulletin on Tuesday, the Regional Health Agency of Occitanie indicated an increase in hospitalizations of Covid-19, standing at 874 patients (+159) including 201 in intensive care (+29).

It also had 14,293 positives detected since October 13, with a positivity rate of 12.3%.
