"We will be in support of this teacher".

This Thursday, at the microphone of Europe 1, Jean-Michel Blanquer returned to the verbal aggression suffered by a teacher from the Pierre-d'Aragon high school, in Muret, on October 9.

This teacher was violently attacked by a 16-year-old high school student after a civic education course on gender equality which had drifted on the wearing of the veil.

Since then, the teenager has been the subject of a removal order and has been indicted for "contempt of a person holding a public service mission in a school".

The principal also began on Monday a sanctioning procedure against two other students who accompanied the student when she attacked the teacher.

The latter had filed a complaint with the gendarmerie.

900 cases reported last year

“This is not an isolated fact, since the reporting system we have set up has enabled us to identify just over 900 of this type during the last school year.

There are facts of this type and we react, there, Mostafa Forar, the rector of the Toulouse academy reacted well, did what was necessary ”, explained on the air the Minister of Education national which was invited in the context of the Conflans attack.

For the latter, “this illustrates that the phenomenon exists, it is a social phenomenon, and the educational institution must have reactions to the height, this is what happens most of the time, not always, and this 'this is why we must tackle it ”.
