She specifies, however, that "her situation is not worrying".

Her situation is relatively OK, ”she added.

The former Belgian Prime Minister announced on Twitter a “positive” test for coronavirus on Saturday, following suspicious symptoms.

She had mentioned "a contamination probably occurred within (her) family circle given the precautions taken outside (her) home".

Het resultaat van mijn Covidtest is positief.

Een besmetting die wellicht plaatsgevonden heeft in familiekring, gezien de voorzorgsmaatregelen die ik buitenshuis heb genomen.

253,386 coronavirus cases

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo wished on Twitter “a speedy recovery” to his minister.

“All together, we will defeat the Covid-19”, he added.

With 10,539 deaths linked to the coronavirus, Belgium is one of the countries in Europe most bereaved by the disease, and the second in the world which deplores the largest number of deaths in relation to its population.

It identified Thursday 253,386 cases of coronavirus - a figure that has more than doubled in one month -, and 3,274 hospitalized patients, a situation considered very worrying by the authorities, who since Monday have imposed the closure of cafes and restaurants, as well as a cover -fire from midnight to 5 am.
