The first session of the motion of censure sponsored by Vox against Pedro Sánchez offered the scenario that this newspaper was advancing here yesterday: a divided opposition, conditioned by the partisan struggle in the right-wing bloc;

and a government installed in cynicism, playing the role of fencing off political adversaries that it describes as enemies of democracy.

During his speech, Abascal charged against the disastrous management of the pandemic and censured the pacts of Sán

chez with the separatists and the pro-ETAs.

that, taking advantage of the motion, it reaffirmed itself after the PSOE had the rennet to sign, together with Bildu, the CUP and the rest of the independence forces, a fallacious manifesto "in favor of democracy", another pact of Tinell to isolate the PP in all Spain.

Abascal was right in the implacable diagnosis of the radical drift of the Government.

Instead, he exceeded in substance and form in his clumsy criticism of the EU, which allowed Sánchez to present himself as a false champion of moderation.

And this despite the deep institutional erosion caused by his Government and the unequivocal signs of reproach made from the European institutions against his chieftain in the Judiciary.

The latest came from the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), stating that the reform proposed by way of swallowing it "may violate the norms of the Council of Europe." The Constitution indicates that the motion of censure should not be instrumental but constructive.

Vox does not have the votes to overthrow Sánchez, from which it follows that it seeks to take advantage of the wear and tear of the Government against the PP, for the sake of counterproductive partisan competition in the opposition bloc.

In this sense, the motion offers Pablo Casado the opportunity to reinforce his leadership in the opposition and claim the validity of a reformist, pro-European and moderate project. THE WORLD has repeatedly defended that the Government deserves the censure of the Chamber.

Negligence, arbitrariness, opacity and authoritarianism are added to the dire management of covid.19.

Sánchez not only ignored the management of the pandemic before the summer, but he has not taken the necessary measures to mitigate the effects of the economic crisis.

PSOE and Podemos, while weighing up spending and redoubling the fiscal pressure, continue to deny the seriousness of the crisis.

They are far from the reality suffered by entrepreneurs, freelancers and workers.

The president of Mercadona, Juan Roig, warned yesterday to a large part of the country's top executives that the recession could last until 2022.The knock of the business community is pertinent: anguished citizens do not understand that the priority is not to face the triple health emergency, economic and social.

Faced with the ill-fated - due to unfocused - Vox initiative and the hypocritical imposture of an incapable government, the PP has the opportunity to articulate a government alternative from the managerial experience and the programmatic moderation that characterize the Spanish and European center-right.
