In a new look, the Fazza Championship is back for Yola (Al-Maidan 2020-2021), organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, as the qualifying rounds for the Fazza Championship will start on October 29 and 30, in the Global Village in Dubai, near Gate No. 1 (Cultural).

The qualifying rounds come in preparation for hosting the 21st edition of the Fazza Yola Championship and the 16th edition of the Maidan program, which is broadcasted weekly on Sama Dubai.

The center announced that young people of all nationalities are allowed to participate in these qualifying rounds, which will be organized over two consecutive days, to choose the best, in the presence of the jury consisting of Rashid Al Khasouni, Khalifa bin Sabeen, and Muslim Al Ameri.

The center unveiled the new look of the Fazza Championship for Yola and the Maidan program for the new season, to continue the march that was launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, more than 20 years ago, to preserve an ancient heritage linked to manifestations of celebration and pride, as part of efforts His Highness aimed at strengthening the national identity.

Phase

For his part, the CEO of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmouk, said that the Fazza Yola Championship will be different from previous years, and will depend on the performance of the participant and not on the vote.

He explained that the program will include five challenges between 16 July, and in each challenge the participant will receive a percentage of the general total, then the percentages will be collected at the end in the same league system, and it will determine whether the competitor will qualify and win according to the stages of the competition.

He pointed out that these percentages are harvested from a literary and cultural competition (in which poetry is recited), a heritage sport competition for direct shooting on the field with an air rifle (withheld), the Yolla competition and two indirect competitions outside the field related to the heritage, namely horse racing and camel racing.

The CEO of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival added: “The knight's skills will be tested, as he is the rider who owns the ride, who is able to recite poems and ride horses, and a professional pitcher who has skill in a national heritage called Al-Yawla, which is considered a social celebration.

Most importantly, we not only pushed the participant to acquire five skills, but we also urged community members to participate more, as we will involve 16 horse stables trainers, as well as camel trackers, as well as professional shooters to train the contestants.

The only difference lies in the poem reciting competition, as it will be judged by a poet accredited in the program.

Fan base

About the championship and the program over the past years, Bin Dalmouk affirmed that they “achieved great success represented by sustainability and a broad fan base, especially as the step to change the program’s suit came with the aim of attracting more young people at this stage of time by involving a larger number of fans, so we must strive All the ways to provide suitable alternatives for young people to stay away from a lot of extraneous games to our society, and try to involve them in adhering to their social heritage ».

It is noteworthy that the first episode of the Fazza Al-Yolla Championship - Al-Maidan Program 2020-2021 will start at the beginning of next December.

The CEO of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmouk, revealed that the center will launch a special application for the Fazaa Championship for Yola to vote for each contestant, and everyone who has downloaded the application is entitled to vote only once, and the application includes a number of features that serve the subscribers.
