  • “La Carte aux Trésors” is back this Wednesday evening on France 3 for a season whose filming had to adapt to the pandemic.

  • This year, host Cyril Féraud will not embrace the candidates.

  • But he ensures that viewers will not see the difference in the adventure game which, by flying over France, gives a welcome boost to local tourism.

The “La Carte aux Trésors” helicopters are back on Wednesday (at 9:05 pm on France 3) in the televisual sky for a season which has had to adapt to the constraints of the epidemic.

But the recipe does not change: discover the local history and marvel at the landscapes, while having fun.

In this particular period, the host Cyril Féraud says he is proud to contribute in his way to local tourism.

He confided in

before the broadcast of a program shot under a blazing sun in Toulouse and Haute-Garonne.

This new season, the third for you, was shot under very specific conditions.

What has the Covid-19 changed at “La Carte aux Trésors”?

We shot in early July, the confinement had already gone through there.

The whole process has been studied with specialists to secure the filming.

The candidates were, for example, equipped with poles, whereas before they questioned passers-by in a classic way with the microphone at the end of their hand.

They were therefore able to keep their safety distances as we have now seen for months in all the news.

Then, in the helicopters everyone was masked, except the candidate and the pilot.

And inside the cars, the candidates sat on the diagonal of the drivers.

Is the atmosphere of the show suddenly different?

You will see that it is not.

The only difference for me is that it forbids me to hug the candidates, to check them, to pat them in the hand to congratulate them.

But we invented "air checks", we found other solutions so that there is still good humor and sharing.

In July in Toulouse, wearing a mask was not compulsory ...

Honestly, I think people understand that, of course, we scrupulously follow all the health instructions dictated by the government when we go around.

If there is one thing to take away from all this, and which echoes the period we are going through, it is that we have no choice, we are in a situation where we must respect these instructions, but this should not prevent us from living, watching TV and filming great shows.

What has also evolved is that tourism is at half mast.

Do you therefore feel invested with an additional mission?

It would be presumptuous to say it like that.

But all the tourist offices, all the departments gave us ultra-positive feedback after the broadcast of the program.

Le Lot, for example, called us to tell us that the show had a huge impact on bookings.

This Covid prevents many people from traveling abroad so if “

 The Treasure Map”

can help the tourist activity of the country and make people understand that it is beautiful and that there is no need to it is a source of pride to travel eight hours by plane to see sublime landscapes.

Did you know Toulouse?

I had already come.

But there, flying over Toulouse, in the sun, we really understand why we call it the Pink City.

I obviously knew it from Airbus but I did not know that it was really the cradle of Aéropostale and the fascinating history of the pioneers of aviation.

Our play area starts from Toulouse and goes up the Garonne to Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges then goes towards Lauragais for example.

Our double challenge is to make discover the department to those who have never been there and then it is, perhaps also, to show it also to those who live there, in an original and playful way.

Without betraying a secret, do you have an anecdote on this shoot?

I met Denise, a pastel maker who keeps this tradition alive.

She fascinated me, she showed me how she made dyes in her small village of Roumens for the biggest ready-to-wear brands, I found that fascinating.
