“On Thursday, October 22, the Bezymyanny volcano erupted.

The seismic monitoring system of the Kamchatka branch of the FRC EGS RAS recorded an explosion at 8:22 am Kamchatka time (October 21, 11:22 pm Moscow time), ”the message says.

It is noted that, according to preliminary estimates, "the height of the ash discharge was about 10 kilometers."

It is also reported that the volcano is currently partially covered by clouds, so a more accurate estimate of the scale of the eruption will appear after studying satellite data.

In June, it was reported that the Ebeko volcano on the northern Kuril island of Paramushir threw a column of ash to a height of 2.2 km.
